Matt Blake

Assistant Director, Player Development

Matt Blake begins his fourth season with the Indians and third as Assistant Director of Player Development after being named to the position in November of 2016. Matt began his tenure with the Indians earlier in the 2016 campaign as the Lower Level Pitching Coordinator. In his current role, Matt assists with the leadership of the organization's Player Development staff, as well as the design and execution of its programs, policies and curricula. Additionally, he oversees the player plan origination of the club's pitchers, collaborating with coaches, coordinators and front office personnel.

Prior to joining the Indians, Matt spent seven years as the Pitching Coordinator for Cressey Sports Performance, while also spending time coaching in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He grew up in Concord, NH and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2007 with a degree in Psychology and Philosophy. Matt resides in downtown Cleveland.
