Danny Ourian, aka 'Coach Dan,' is the head coach of the Boys Varsity basketball program at College Preparatory School in Rockridge, Oakland. He has recently completed his Master's degree in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California. Before relocating to the Bay Area in 2015, Dan was born and raised in New York, where he was a member of the New York Knicks' Community Relations department and served as Director of Sport Programs at the cultural institution, the 92nd Street Y. In the late-2000's, he spent two life-changing years in the Middle East as a Program Director of the non-profit PeacePlayers International, an organization that uses sport to bring children together in conflict regions. Dan has worked with several Bay Area sport organizations, including Positive Coaching Alliance, Solt Evans LEAP Program, and the Golden State Warriors youth basketball department. He lives in Oakland with his wife.
